Children's Hunger Fund Donor Privacy Policy

It is the policy of Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF) to respect and maintain the privacy of its donors. To that end, CHF will not to disclose to any third-party, unless ordered to do so by a court of competent jurisdiction, personal information or information from your financial institution to any other organization, ministry, person or business. CHF also will not share, sell, rent, or loan donor information to any other entity. This policy applies to donor information collected online or offline.

What does CHF do with donor personal and financial information?

Besides keeping donor personal and financial information safe and secure, the personal information donor’s provide, such as e-mail addresses and telephone numbers, is used by CHF staff only to ensure accurate, timely processing of transactions and/or donations. Everything else is kept confidential, and CHF will remove any information from its digital and paper files upon written request of the donor.

How do we protect your information?

Children’s Hunger Fund has been a member in good standing of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability since 2003, CHF is also listed at Charity Navigator and Wall Watcher’s — two leading independent charity rating services.

In keeping with CHF’s mission and values of good stewardship, CHF implements a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you make a gift, place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secured server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a gift or donation transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be kept on file (digitally or in paper) for more than 60 days, and then is destroyed.

Those who choose to register through various “guestbook”-type features on our site may choose to give us certain contact information (such as their email address). These features may also request optional demographic information (such as zip code, age, or income level). Unless you “opt out,” we may use this contact information to send you additional information about CHF and our programs. Voluntarily provided contact information may also be used to contact you when necessary in order to resolve customer service issues or questions. You may readily opt-out of receiving future communications; see the “opt-out” and “modifying your information” sections below.

Is there an ability to Opt-Out when contacting CHF?

Most points on the CHF web site provide users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us at the point where we request contact information about the visitor. There are, however, a few places where users do not have the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications. Should you wish to opt-out, contact us at info@childrenshungerfund.org or 1-800-708-7589 and we will unsubscribe you from receiving further communications from us.

Users may also opt-out at any time by contacting us following the methods provided in the “modifying your information” section below.

How do I modify my personal information or account settings?
